Congratulations Erik and Amanda Marshall!!! My best friend got married this past weekend and it was quite a celebration. We had a fun and busy weekend. Kelli and I hosted several people from out of town... people who came in for Erik's wedding. We had three people from London, England stay at the Blinn Bed and Breakfast over the weekend. We have had some really great house guest since moving to Byall.

What the heck is with all the rain? I spent the day wet in Lima at the Allen County Fair. Dang. We have had twenty feet of rain up here in Northwest Ohio. I think that Great Black Swamp is making a come back. Where can I buy a boat? This rainy weather has brought in some cool weather. I'm happy about that. Now that my birthday has passed I'm ready for fall. Who's up for a backyard campfire and some warm drinks?

I have a shoot in two hours on my birthday... i'm still at work. Well such is life in the video production world. All day I worked on the creation of an interview set that I'll be using for a production tomorrow. I'm really proud of todays work. It took most of the the day to create and light. I'm ready for a nap. This morning my amazing wife treated me to breakfast at Waffle House... Then we met up at lunch on campus for some bag lunches. It's been a good day.

Well... Today is a big day in my little world.

The Kitchen Floor is finished! Fez was up for the weekend with his wife and we installed the new floor. Oh boy! We are to the final steps in the kitchen project. Paint the cabinets and install new trim.

It was great to spend time with Fez and Mandy on Saturday and Sunday. We like those two a lot. Becka was also visiting over the weekend. It was good to be with her too. She is a person I'd like to get to know even more.

Got a go... kelli just left work and is meeting me in a few minutes.

Someone left this comment on the blog last night....

"If all the organized churches in the world sold all their property and used it to feed the hungry it would last for about a month. Your thoughts are noble but very naive.

"Give someone a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and he can feed himself for life."
You are responding to a post I wrote a few weeks ago. Am I naive for believing in a Church that can rise above the cultural problems of today? Don't you think that if the catholic church focused its resources to teach people how to fish, grow their own vegetable gardens, sew their own clothes and teach financial stewardship... the poor would naturally rise out of poverty and one life at a time will be changed? The church dose these things on a small scale but does the church ever fully live out its potential? I see the church focusing on Building Funds, Book Stores, Coffee Houses, multi million dollar producing facilities for audio and video production, self help programs... It's all ok if that is what you want to be know for... In Columbus and other communities throughout the states I'm starting to learn about Christians and Non Christians alike who are teaching urban low income people how to grow their own vegetables. I think that is a good start for where the church should be. You don't new a huge building with modern mega church facilities to teach the poor how to grow tomatoes. However you do need to live life among the poor to have an open door to their hearts and stomachs.

Just some early friday morning thoughts.

Peace to you this weekend. More friends coming up for the weekend. Sweet Jam!
